This article is for servicing the Dell 27" Wall Displays. The steps below are needed to complete an upgrade of the OS

  • Remove the stand if attached by pressing the button on the back of the Monitor to get it out of the way:

  • The CPU is located inside the box imaged below:

  • To remove this locate the screwdriver access point in the box, at the bottom of the monitor:

  • Insert a Phillips Head screwdriver and loosen the screw. You do not need to remove it entirely:

  • Next using a flat-edge tool, carefully pry up the edges of the box as they are held in place by an adhesive. You should not need to use a lot of pressure to get this to release. See below:

  • Once you have this loose all the way around, you can slowly, and carefully, lift the box straight up to release it from the screw and the back of the display. Please note that there are delicate ribbon cables attached to the CPU that may break if you force this.
  • Once you have it lifted away, you can lay it on the back of the display. Be sure to not damage the Ribbon cables for the power and the HDMI connections.
  • Starting from the side of the USB ports, lift the CPU straight up to get it to release from the two catches:

  • Then pull the CPU slightly forward to bring it out from under the tabs seen below:

  • Once the board is past these points, rock the CPU up from the side the cables are on and remove it from the case.

  • From here remove the SD card from the bottom of the Raspberry Pi CPU, located opposite the USB ports as seen below:

  • Updated or replace the SD card with one containing the latest OS, then reverse the steps to reassemble.

NOTE: you do not need the adhesive to connect the box back to the display if it is no longer sticky. You can replace this with double-stick tape if you desire. All that needs to be done to hold the box on the display is tightening the screw that the case snaps onto.

Once you have completed reassembling the display, plug it in and make sure it loads to the DAKBoard Welcome page.
