The following applies to all DAKboard V2 and V2 Plus Models for replacing the SD Card that does not have the access hole on the back (mid-2022 Models and older).
Wall Display 27 and V2 Plus Models with the access hole covered by a sticker may use the article Wall Display 27 and V2 Plus (Mid-2022 and Newer) SD Card Replacement instead.
1. Remove power from the device and do not plug it back in until step 10! Then remove the #2 Phillips screw at the bottom of the panel as shown:
2. Remove all 4 # 2 Phillips VESA screws on the back of the panel and remove the wall plate and set aside. There may be a single silver screw if mounted in a portrait that also needs to be removed.
3. Take a plastic wedge and begin carefully prying the plastic bezel back from the metal frame starting at the top of the screen and working out to the sides.
4. Pry the plastic away from the sides and pry the corners off, from the top or the side (whichever is most accessible).
5. Free the top and sides of the bezel from the metal frame and hinge open on the bottom, place the screen face down on a soft material, and lay the bezel above it as shown. Be careful not to pull or bend the bottom button panel wire. You will see the Raspberry Pi board underside and SD card through the circle opening.
6. Most models will have a circular access hole for the card. Remove the SD card and replace it, videos are attached at the bottom of this page for the removal/replacement procedure.
If a circular access hole is not present, use a #1 Phillips screwdriver to remove the black screw at the top center of the device, this holds the metal frame with the components to the LCD. Pull away the tape on the sides and bottom and lift the case from the bottom (pivoting at the top). This will reveal the Raspberry Pi and grant access to the SD card.
7. Lay the bezel back onto the frame as shown once the SD card has been replaced. You can now push down on the edges of the bezel until they snap back into place around the screen and flip the screen over.
8. Squeeze the edges at any points where they have not fully seated and clipped back into place.
9. Replace the 4 #2 Phillips VESA screws and the silver #2 Phillips screw if in portrait.
10. Replace the Phillips #2 screw on the bottom of the Wall Display, and connect the power cord.
