Frequently Asked Questions:

Below are the most Frequently Asked Questions about Picking the Right CPU:

Why is the scrolling on my display so jerky?

The Raspberry Pi CPU that powers our DAKboard CPU doesn't have a lot of graphics computing power, and some models have very limited RAM. This can lead to choppy or laggy scrolling effects. Make sure the device has a strong wifi signal and move closer to a router or access point if possible, or use an Ethernet connection, as this can help with the lag. For smaller CPUs like the Mini, scrolling is not recommended, as it requires too much RAM and computing power. Try a CPU v4 or CPU v5 as they are more powerful and have more RAM available to them.

Can the Mini use Ethernet adapters?

Yes, you can add a Micro USB to Ethernet adapter to your Mini to improve its performance by directly wiring your CPU into your network. We have not tested if this kind of adapter will work with a USB HUB, but we know it will work when directly connected to the CPU.

Which CPU should I buy for playing Videos?

The CPU v4 or v5 can both play video. The CPU v5 has more graphical processing. This will make videos less choppy.
