Can you power the CPU from the Monitor's USB ports?


This will depend on your Monitor. Most modern monitors will not send power to the USB ports until they detect an HDMI signal. Because of this, until the CPU is powered on and sending a signal, you would not be able to get the power needed from the Monitor. This is not always true. You will have to check your Monitor's owner's manual to see if any of the USB ports on it have power all the time.
