This Google Photos integration will function through June 2026. After that, we'll be replacing this functionality with Google's "Ambient API". Details will be announced soon.
You can use Google Photos to randomly Display Photos in any folder that you set up to store them with the Google Photos Block. To do this, use the steps below:
Linking your Google Photos account:
To add Photos from Google Photos to DAKboard, you'll first need to choose Google Photos as your photo source and link your Google Photos account. To do this, open your Screen Editor for the Predefined Screens (this will be under the Background tab), selecting the source as Google Photos. For Custom Screens, click the Add a Block button in the upper right-hand corner, and search for Google Photos. Once you have the Source set, click the Connect to Google Photos button to add your account, as seen below:
Follow the prompts to link to your Google Photos account and provide permission to view the Folder of your choice.
Using the Google Photos Albums:
Once an account or multiple accounts are linked, you can use the Google Photos Account dropdown to select the Account you want to use. From here, you can select the Google Photos Albums you wish to view. See below:
The Photos From section allows you to select what albums to view. These selections are as follows:
- All: This allows you to view all your albums.
- Album(s): This allows you to select one or more albums to view.
- Favorites: This allows you to view all the images you have marked as favorites.
As with all our integrated sites, photos will be selected and displayed at random. See our article How to Add Photos to Your DAKboard Screen to learn more about Photo Limits and Randomization.
