Using the Media Library:

The Media Library has been around for a while with DAKboard Plus Subscriptions. It is now also available on the Essential Paid plan. Frequently Asked Questions:

Below are the most Frequently Asked Questions about the new Google Photo Integrations:

Why is this Change Being Made?

Google no longer allows apps to connect with and display content from albums. Google's new integration system is called Photo Picker. With the Photo Picker, you select and download images you wish to view rather than view them continuously through an integration. Google has stated that this update was done to improve security.

Why is this only Available with the Paid Subscriptions?

With the new Google Photo Picker design, DAKboard Media Library will now download and store your images on the DAKboard Cloud,  so you can continue to use Google Photos.  Due to hosting and storage costs, this was limited to Paid Subscriptions only.

Why is Nothing Happening When I Click the Import Google Photos Button?

We generally find this occurs due to a pop-up blocker or an add-on in the browser preventing this functionality from working as intended. This can also happen when Security Suites have Ads or Pop-up blockers enabled. Try disabling your Ad or Pop-up blockers, or logging into your DAKboard account from an Incognito Browser.

Why am I getting "Error 403: Problem occurred attempting to get a Google Photos Picking Session." Message?

This can happen for a couple of reasons. First, if you have an Ad blocker, Pop-up blocker, or redirect blocker on your browser, it could be preventing access to this service. Make sure you disable these before proceeding to the Photo Picker Page.

Second, this could be caused if you failed to set the permissions properly when prompted to do so while authenticating your account. To correct this, use our article Remove or Reauthorize External Apps to remove your authentication, then start the process of setting up the authentication from the beginning of this article. Make sure you have a check next to every option presented to you on the authentication page, as seen below:

Why can't I add the Media Library to my Predefined Screen?

The Media Library block is only available for Paid Subscriptions and can only be added to Custom Screens. Since the Predefined Screen is limited to only what you can use with the Free Subscription plan, this option is not available on it.

How large is the Media Library?

For the Essential Plan, you have a 200 MB Media Library. For the Plus Plan, you have a 500 MB Media Library.

Why is the Storage Size Smaller than Google?

We do not compete with Cloud Photo storage provider pricing as that is not the primary service we offer.  If you have a large library, you may find competitive prices for your use case with the integration providers we integrate with such as Dropbox, Apple, OneDrive, etc. However, we have opened the following discussion to see if customers would like us to create a method to purchase more Library space for their plans.
