TABLE OF CONTENTS

The Date and Time Block adds a clock and date to your Custom Screen. You can use multiple of these to set time zones around the world if you like. They can be set to work in both 12 and 24-hour formats, Digital or Analog clock faces, and multiple formats for the Date as well. This article will cover how to add these blocks.

Add a Date and Time Block:

To add a Date and Time block to your screen, go to the Custom Screen editor, click the Add a Block button, click the Tools section, and then select the Date and Time Block. See below:

When the Date and Time Block is added, it will open to the Settings page as seen below:

Here you can choose what Time Format and Date format you prefer. The Timezone will be automatically set using either your account's Default timezone or the Timezone you have set on your Screen. See our articles How to Access and Update the Account Defaults and How to Set the Timezone for more details on this. You can also change this timezone to be something different, so you can set up clocks around the world if you prefer. See the example below:

Frequently Asked Questions:

Below are the most Frequently Asked Questions about the Date and Time Block.

Why is the Time in my Block off?

The Block time is maintained by your CPU/Display's internal clock and is adjusted to match your selected time zone. If this time is off, falling behind by a few minutes, this could indicate that your CPU/Display's internal clock is off. If you are using a DAKboard OS device, this may indicate that it cannot reach the local NTP (Network Time Protocol) servers. See our article Fix incorrect date/time (Connection is not private error) to see how to test for this. If the Display is a Smart TV, Tablet, or Home Computer, you may be set to manually adjust your internal clock. Check your settings on your device and see if there is an option to automatically update the clock. If not, you will have to manually set the time to be correct on your device.

Are there more Analog Clock options?

At this time, no. However, you can create your own analog clock by using our Widget Block (see our article Widget Blocks (Beta) for details) and using the HTML clocks from ClockLink.com. Try these out if you are looking for something different.
