TABLE OF CONTENTS
With DAKboard Custom Screens, you can now use our "of the Day" blocks. These include the Word of the Day, the Quote of the Day, and the Bible Verse of the Day to your Custom Screens. Here is how to do this:
Adding the "of the Day" block:
To add one or all of the "of the Day" blocks, open the Custom Screen Editor you want them to appear on, click the Add A Block button, click the News & Education section, and select the blocks you wish to add. See below:
Once you select your block, it will open the Settings tab seen below:
Once you have made your selections, make sure you click Save.
Settings Tab:
With the Settings Tab, you have several options you can use to personalize your block. Below are details on these settings:
- Source: This section allows you to choose which version of the Block you want to view. This includes the following options:
- Word of the Day
- Quote of the Day
- Bible Verse of the Day
- Compliments
- Dad Jokes
- Rotate: This option will allow you to change how quickly you can rotate through items in the selected source.
NOTE: With the "of the Day" sources (Word of the Day, Quote of the Day, and Bible Verse of the Day), the information only rotates once a day, so this option will not affect them.
- Show Descriptions: (Not available with Compliments or Dad Jokes) This option will allow you to see any published Descriptions or Subtitles for the entry, if they are available.
- Show Source & Timestamps: (Not available with Compliments or Dad Jokes) This option will include any published Source Materials or Timestamps if they are available.
Formatting Tab:
With the Formatting Tab, you can now modify the look of your Button Block further. These options are detailed below:
- Text: This allows you to select the Size and Color of the Icon.
- Background: This option allows you to fill the background of your block with a color and/or add blurring effects to it.
- Block Title: This allows you to put a title to your block. This can be used to target your block for use with Custom CSS or just to identify the block.
- Advanced: The Advanced dropdown includes new block placement, block shaping, and the Link Block options. See our article, Advanced Features of the Custom Screen Editor, for more details.
