There are a few different places to check if your date/time is wrong, or if calendar events are showing up with the wrong time.
On a DAKboard Display or CPU Running the DAKboard OS:
In your DAKboard account, click on Displays & Devices, then click the three dots next to the desired display and select Settings:
Then select View Device Settings:
This will open the display settings in a new tab or browser window. Scroll down to confirm the timezone and change if needed, then click the Save Changes button.
NOTE: You may need to restart your device for this change to take effect.
On a Non-DAKboard OS device:
If you do not have a DAKboard OS device to Display your Screen on, you may need to check your device and see if you can modify its Timezone to match. For example, most Smart TVs have the option to use automatic or manually entered timezones. Automatic is usually done by connecting to what they call a Network Time Protocol (NTP) server. These will take location information from your device and supply you with the closest timezone and date time information for it. However, this can sometimes be wrong, or may use a Timezone that does not match what you want to use. In these cases, switching to Manual will allow you to select the timezone you want, and manually set your Date and Time information on your TV.
This is true for most internet-connected devices you may use for a DAKboard Display. Review your device manuals or settings to see how to modify this.
In the Predefined Screen:
If you're using a Predefined screen, you can view the timezone in the Date/Time tab when editing the Predefined screen.
Make sure to click Save Changes before you leave this tab or the changes will not apply.
In a Custom Screen:
If you're using a Custom screen, you can view the timezone in the Gear Icon when editing the Custom screen:
Scroll to the Timezone field as shown below:
Make sure you click Save to complete your changes.
Calendar Timezones:
If your Calendar is showing the wrong time, this can be caused by your time zones not matching. Both the Display and the Screen time zones have to be set for the DAKboard Display to show the correct time in your Calendar block. However, if you are using ICS/iCal files, and occasionally this happens with Authenticated accounts like Google Calendar or Microsoft Calendar, you may also need to set the Timezone in the calendar itself. Most online calendars use the local device (your Display, PC, or tablet) to set the time zones you are viewing, but sometimes the calendar will overwrite this.
On these rare occasions, you will also need to set the Timezone in your Calendar. You can usually find this in the Calendar Settings similar to our Screen settings, but where this is located varies. Log into your calendar service and search through the Settings page or check online how to set the timezone in your calendar of choice and make sure it matches the timezone you selected for your Display and Screen.
Account Default Timezone:
You can also set your account to have a Default Timezone. This can be done in your account settings and will be automatically applied to your new Screens when you create them. See our article How to Access and Update the Account Defaults to learn how to update your Defaults.
