With the ICS/iCal Calendar tool you can add nearly any calendar service to your DAKboard. As long as your calendar service allows you to export your calendars using this format, you can add them to your Display. This article will show you how to do this.
Getting your ICS/iCal File:
You will first need to find out if your calendar service allows you to export your calendar in an ICS or iCal format. Most calendar services allow this. We have examples of these files and how to access them in some of the more popular calendars. See our Helpful Articles section below to see these examples.
Your calendar service knowledge base will be able to let you know if you can export using these file types. The will allow you to generate a ICS/iCal file in the form of a URL if they can. Once you have your file's URL, you can proceed to your DAKboard Screen to add your calendar.
Adding the ICS/iCal File to Your Calendar Block:
Depending on what type of Screen you are adding your calendar to, the process is slightly different. Our article How to Add a Calendar Block to your DAKboard Screen covers the basics for both the Predefined and Custom Screens. Below we will cover the specifics for adding a ICS/iCal file to both of these Screen types
Predefined Screen:
Once you have enabled your Calendar Block, from the Calendar Tab, scroll down to the Connected Calendar section, and click the Add Calendar URL button. See below:
This will open the ICS/iCal URL block. Paste your URL into the space provided and save your Changes to apply the Calendar to your Screen. See below:
You can add additional Calendar URLs until you reach your limit in the same way. See the Compare Plans section of our Pricing Page for the Calendar Limit of your Subscription Plan.
Custom Screen:
Once you have added your Calendar Block to your Custom Screen, open the Block Editor, and click on the iCal/ICS Link button. See below:
This will open the iCal/ICS URL block in the My Calendars section of the Block. Paste your Calendar URL here and click Save to apply the changes. See below:
You can add additional Calendar URLs until you reach your limit in the same way. See the Compare Plans section of our Pricing Page for the Calendar Limit of your Subscription Plan.
